Hey Mosh whānau,
The seasons are shifting – summer’s fading, autumn’s rolling in, and just like that, the social media landscape is changing too. We’re marching into new social media trends in this month’s newsletter – from Instagram’s shiny new metrics to TikTok’s photo post glow-up and Pinterest’s ad 101. Plus, we’re shining a spotlight on some exciting work we did for OPPO New Zealand. Let’s get into it! 🚀✨
Instagram Expands Views Metrics
Instagram is giving creators a deeper look under the hood with their new “Views” metrics to help fine-tune content strategies. Now, in addition to your usual insights, you’ll have:
📊 View Rate – Because raw view counts only tell half the story. This metric shows the percentage of people who actually watched your content.
⏳ Views Over Time – A closer look at how your content performs long after hitting ‘Post.’ Did it pop off instantly or gain traction over time? Now you’ll be able to find out. More data = more power. So if you’ve ever wondered why some posts thrive while others flop, these insights could be a game-changer! Check it out to start optimising your video content strategy.

TikTok’s Photo Feature: Pro Tips for Brands
Not every post needs to be a high-energy video – TikTok’s photo posts are having a moment, and now TikTok itself has dropped some insider tips to help brands make the most of them. If the app is giving us the blueprint, we’re listening.
These swipeable image carousels let users consume content at their own pace, making them perfect for storytelling, product showcases, and behind-the-scenes glimpses. And with up to 35 images per post, plus music from TikTok’s Commercial Music Library, there’s plenty of room to get creative. They also give Instagram’s 20 carousel image limit something to sweat about!
So, what does TikTok say works best?
📷 Go big on descriptive captions – Give context to keep people engaged.
😹 Memes, memes, memes – Static posts are prime real estate for relatable, shareable content.
🎓 Tutorials & roundups – Show off your expertise or wrap up key takeaways with a photo carousel.
If you’re running low on short-form video ideas and looking for an easy way to switch up your strategy on TikTok, photo posts could be your golden ticket.

Pinterest’s New Advertiser Mini-Site
With all the change in social media right now (TikTok drama, Meta tweaks, X… being X), Pinterest is making moves to get more brands investing in its platform. Enter: a brand-new advertiser mini-site, packed with stats, best practices, and reasons why you should consider giving Pin ads a go.
Pinterest is making a strong case for itself, highlighting its 537 million monthly active users, a growing Gen Z audience, and the fact that people come to the platform already looking for products – making it a goldmine for brands. To sweeten the deal, Pinterest is also offering bonus media for advertisers to increase their Pin ad spend. If you’ve been on the fence about advertising on the platform, now might be the time to pin it down!

Mosh Success Stories
OPPO New Zealand x Mosh

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of teaming up with OPPO New Zealand to bring their new OPPO Reno 13 Series to life with two dynamic photoshoots. The brief? Create imagery that speaks to young, creative Kiwis. So, we hit up Auckland’s vibrant Karangahape Road, capturing two models in an urban setting packed with street art and all the local flavour you could ask for. In both the studio and location shoot, we made sure the phones were front and centre in a way that felt fresh, fun, and totally on-brand for the modern Kiwi vibe.
And that’s a wrap on this month’s must-know updates! Thanks for hanging out – until next time, stay creative, stay curious, and stay on top of those trends ✌️
