Reels Are Better Blended Together
Instagram is cooking up a new way to scroll with someone else in mind 🧠📈 Literally. Introducing Blend for Reels: a private, shared Reels feed for two users, tailored to what both of you like watching.
So, how does it work?
🎯 It recommends Reels based on your combined viewing habits.
👯♀️You and your chosen Blend buddy can share and discover short-form vids in one scroll-friendly space.
👀 Think of it like a For You Page… for the two of you.
It’s still in internal testing, but if it rolls out widely, it could totally shift how we discover and share content. Basically: less link-sending, more co-scrolling.

Back to Basics: The Friends Feed Returns
Facebook is bringing back the Friends tab, aiming to bring the platform closer to its roots of personal connection. The goal? 🎯A return to authenticity and genuine engagement.
The reintroduction means that your friends’ feed will now focus exclusively on posts from your friends, no more recommended content or ads getting in the way of those authentic moments. For users, this is a win for those who want to cut through the noise and engage more personally. For brands, however, it signals a shift in how to approach engagement. With fewer distractions and more intimate spaces on the platform, creating organic, authentic content that resonates with real connections will be more important than ever 🤓💥 But don’t worry marketers! The main feed will still serve up ads and boosted posts for everyone to see.

Gen Z Engagement 101
Gen Z isn’t just online, they live online. Their social media habits are shaping platforms, trends, and how brands show up. Here’s what’s driving their digital behaviour:
🔄 Content Consumption: They use more platforms than any other age group, drifting from Meta platforms and spending more time on Tumblr, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat. Variety is key.
🎥 Video First: 72.4% of Gen Z users say watching videos is their main activity on social media. Short-form content is where they spend most of their time.
🛍️ Brand Discovery: 82% of Gen Z discover new brands through social media, compared to 57% of the general population. Social is their search engine.
👩🎤 Influencer Power: 79% have made a purchase or taken action after seeing a creator’s content. Creator partnerships = big impact.
☎️Community Engagement: 60% follow brands not just for products, but to align with interests and values. It’s about connection, not just conversion.
🌍 Social Impact: 58% of Gen Z believe supporting causes online is more effective than doing so offline. Purpose-driven content matters.

Earlier this month, we had a bit of fun with RJ’s and dropped a flavour bomb that definitely got people talking 🗣️For April Fools’, we introduced the all-new (and totally made-up) Fusion Fizz – a wild mash-up of every sherbet flavour you can think of, smashed into one mind-blowing, taste-bud-tingling lolly 🌈 Think chaos, in the best way.
From creating some serious buzz to having a bit of fun with the RJ’s community, we kept things light-hearted and playful. We even got a few comments from people wondering where they could buy the new flavour (we love the enthusiasm!). Overall, the post struck just the right balance between cheeky and true to the brand 📌🤝Turns out, a little sherbet madness goes a long way. It even made it to the New Zealand Herald!
