TikTok Shares Insights with Monthly Trends Digest

Wanna stay in the loop with TikTok’s latest trends?

Check out TikTok’s new “Trends Digest” series for the lowdown on what’s hot! Instead of just fleeting fads, they’re diving into broader trends, making it easier for you to keep up. As explained by TikTok,

“When it comes to defining trends on TikTok, there’s a difference between what’s trending now and being on-trend: we refer to these as ‘Trend Moments’ versus ‘Trend Signals’. Numerous small Trend Moments make up a larger Trend Signal. Focusing on Trend Moments can be a challenge as keeping up with trending content requires a high level of reactivity. On the other hand, Trend Signals represent a more accessible entry point for brands to stay on-trend by building a solid foundation and understanding of trending content.”

Each trend is broken down into four key elements, giving you a solid foundation for creating relevant content. This month’s trend? It’s all about putting an optimistic spin on everyday situations. Think carousel slides or two-character conversations, showing relatable moments with a positive twist. It’s an interesting experiment that could help you boost your TikTok game and connect better with your audience.

Pinterest Dishing Out Tips on How Marketers Can Maximise Inclusion in Their Messaging

Pinterest dropped some knowledge bombs on how brands can up their inclusivity game in their marketing and ads. They want everyone to feel represented and heard in the digital world, which is the BIGGEST green flag. They’ve been all about diversity for a while now, adding cool features like skin tone filters and body shape options, but now, they’re calling on brands to step up too.

According to Pinterest:

“We believe that advertisers can help people to feel seen and heard in their campaigns. From imagery to messaging, your creative choices can greatly impact how people perceive your brand. You can also inspire people with inclusive content that showcases new ideas that they can incorporate into their lives.”

To make it easier for brands, Pinterest spilled some tea on how to amp up inclusivity:

Start with inclusivity from the get-go – Make it part of your planning process, not an afterthought.
Think big – Consider all kinds of people in your audience and work with influencers who champion diversity.
Get to know your audience – Keep track of how people react to your stuff and use that to plan future moves.
Mix up your visuals – Show a range of faces and cultures to reflect the real world.
Watch your language – Small changes can make a big difference. For example, ditch “bride and groom” for “couple” in wedding talk.
Learn from your mistakes – We’re all human, and sometimes we mess up. Own it and do better next time.

It’s a handy guide to making sure everyone feels included in your brand’s story. So next time you’re planning a campaign, keep these tips in mind. After all, inclusivity never goes out of style!

X’s Latest Voice and Video Calling Feature Exposes Users’ IP Addresses

In the wild world of data privacy, even tech titans like Elon Musk can miss a beat, especially with X, formerly known as Twitter. Last month, X introduced a new feature allowing voice and video calls for all users. Sounds cool, right?

Well, privacy experts quickly pointed out a TINY hitch; every call spills your IP address to the other user. For vulnerable users and political activists relying on X, this could be a major safety snag. Even the big boss Elon, preaches the gospel of DM encryption, a feature X rolled out last year. But now, with this IP leak, it’s a head-scratcher.

In X’s own words, they wanna be the trustiest platform on the web. But with this slip-up, it’s more like trust issues 101. Sure, you can toggle off voice and video calling in your settings. Probably not a bad move if you’re worried about privacy. But it also shows X’s need for speed, maybe a bit too much. Rushing leads to gaps, and this one’s a doozy.
