Snapchat Introduces Fresh ‘After Dark’ Feature to Promote Interactive Content Sharing

Snapchat is pushing the digital boundaries with its latest ‘After Dark’ feature which is tailored to meet the desire for personalised and authentic content sharing, particularly among younger users.

But what’s so special about this element? Essentially, this innovative feature enables users to post exclusive content for their friends after 8 pm and is accessible only to those who have also posted on their Stories. It appears as a separate Snap Story and it curates a compilation of overnight Snaps shared by friends, constructing an engaging montage that showcases the events and interactions from the previous night.

So think of it as if you were going to an exclusive nightclub but on Snapchat! So, meet your friends at their unfiltered best with After Dark and post all your ‘in the moment’ content. Whether you’re out with a drink in hand or even in bed watching the newest episode of Love Island, it’s all the exciting things in your nightlife that your friends would want to view.

Goodbye Twitter Bird, Hello X

Yes, it’s true, the X rebrand for Twitter is here to stay. Whether you like it or not, this transformative change from once the friendly and familiar blue icon with a white bird is now replaced with the letter “X” in the Apple and Google app stores.

The rebrand represents a continued progression in the transformation journey of Twitter. Previously known as a virtual gathering place for individuals who wanted to network, the platform is now under the leadership of newly appointed CEO Linda Yaccarino, who aspires to evolve into an all-encompassing application with versatile features. Just imagine an app that provides you the ability to basically do anything a person wants to do online, from watching videos to listening to a podcast to shopping online.

Where does this leave Twitter? Apologies, we mean X? For now the rebrand is just a name change with no new features (yet), but staying in true Musk fashion, his apparent preferred product strategy is hype first and delivery much, MUCH later.

Instagram Introduces New Music Options Including Soundtracks for Collaborative Posts

Surprise, surprise, ANOTHER update from Instagram – they’re really on fire! Instagram is adding another music element where users can now incorporate a song that will play alongside their photo carousel posts. As explained by Instagram themselves:

“Whether you’re sharing a collection of summer memories with friends or moments from your camera roll, you can now add music to your photo carousels. Building off our launch of music for feed photos, anyone can add a song to capture the mood and bring their carousel to life.”

The new feature is almost giving MySpace, which may seem cringeworthy but is actually quite nostalgic for most. Instagram is also set to expand this feature to the multi-collab feature, enabling you to post an update with up to three other people.

Playing songs over your carousel and multi-collab posts is almost like it’s summer all year round – here for the good vibes and good times. It’s predicted that this feature could end up being popular among the youth.
