New Digs, Same Gigs

Mosh HQ has bid farewell to K’Rd and said Kia ora to our new office at 1/111 Newton Road. We’ve found ourselves a cozy spot nestled amidst some iconic Eden Terrace landmarks (ahem, the mighty yellow Golf Warehouse and the infamous Pelican Club).

And let us tell you, we’ve got quite the view! Sitting pretty on the top floor of the Core building we’ve got a front-row seat to the city’s most affordable petrol station. Plus, we’ve decked out our brand-new photo studio with all the bells and whistles, ready to capture some epic shots for ya. Oh, and did we mention? We’ve also welcomed a few fresh faces to the team!

Just quietly… if you’re in need of a new headshot and you like shots (of the adult nature), to celebrate the big reveal of our new studio we may be having a lil’ launch party 🤫 In the meantime, swing by for a coffee and a kōrero or a cold beer and some banter. Better yet, pop in on a Thursday or Friday and we can show you what’s good in our new hood (The Biscoff babka from Carmel – our new local is worth every calorie 🤤) We look forward to showing you around our new digs!

Hit Rewind On WhatsApp Ruh Roh’

WhatsApp just dropped a nifty update that lets you fix those embarrassing message blunders. Now you can edit any sent message within 15 minutes of hitting ‘Send’—cue the sighs of relief!

According to WhatsApp, this update gives you more control over your chats. Simply long-press a sent message, choose ‘Edit’ from the menu, and voilà! Correct that typo or add some extra context to your message.

But wait, there’s more! Edited messages will sport a little ‘edited’ tag, so readers know you’ve made changes. Sadly, you won’t have an edit history, so no sneaky peek at what you fixed. We can’t have it all, can we? But now, you’ve got a solid 15-minute window to catch and correct any mishaps. 

The new editing feature is rolling out globally from 22 May, so keep an eye out for the update. It’ll be available to everyone in the next few weeks. Get ready to unleash your editing prowess and save yourself from those facepalm moments.

TikTok Does The Courtroom Tango

Watch out, TikTokers! You’ve probably already heard Montana is taking a swipe at our beloved time-wasting, sorry we mean… video-sharing app. They’ve become the first state in the US to ban TikTok, leaving people with some serious FOMO. But fear not, the drama is just beginning.

Governor Greg Gianforte signed a law that will kick TikTok out of Montana by January 2024. If anyone dares to offer or download the app, they could face a hefty fine of $10,000 per day. Ouch.

Of course, TikTok isn’t going down without a fight. They’ve fired back with a lawsuit, claiming that the ban violates the US Constitution and federal laws. Plus, they’re insisting that fears about the Chinese government snooping on user data are nothing but a wild goose chase.

The plot thickens as China’s Foreign Ministry wades into the battlefield, calling Montana’s ban an “abuse of state power.” Looks like we’ve got ourselves an international showdown, friends.
Will TikTok triumph in the courtroom and regain its Montana glory? Or will the ban stick, leaving users TikTok-less in the Big Sky Country? Only time will tell, Moshers. Stay tuned for our next update because this legal tango is far from over.
