Hey there, welcome to the very last mosh newsletter of 2022. It’s ok, there there, don’t be sad, we’ll be back and better than ever in the new year. But for now, wipe away those tears and get scrolling because we’re going through our top 9 moments of 2022 (because top ten lists are so overdone. Who are we? Buzzfeed?! 🤮)
Let’s get into it! 👇
We Celebrate 13 Years in the Game!
2022 marked our 13th year of being in the social media game! Over the past decade (and a bit) we’ve worked with hundreds of clients (380 and counting!), created THOUSANDS (yes, thousands!) of pieces of content, trained up hundreds of individuals, run more campaigns than we can count, and seen our work displayed all over the world! It’s been a whirlwind, to say the least, and we’re definitely excited to see where the next 13 years will take us. Here’s to another decade (and a bit) of killing it in the social media game. Cheers! 🥂
Guns N’ Roses Tour Campaigns
When it comes to rock ‘n roll royalty, it doesn’t get much bigger than Guns N’ Roses. When we were asked to help stir up some social media buzz and ticket sales for the NZ leg of their latest tour, there was no waiting for the November Rain to stop, we got our asses down to Paradise City!
Across six waves of campaigns, we managed to generate 1,092,639 video views, a combined reach of 2,080,243 people across Aotearoa, and 90,858 link clicks through to Ticketek. Welcome to the Jungle indeed!
PDL Earth Day Video Shoot
Earth Hour is a chance for people and businesses to show solidarity for the planet and its people. Every year, for one hour, people across the globe turn their lights off to raise awareness of the global climate crisis. Schneider Electric wanted to showcase its support as a major manufacturer in the electrical space. We helped them create this video showing how connected homes and smart technology aren’t just about convenience but can help you save energy and reduce your impact on the planet 🌏
Bar Albert Photoshoot
Would it really be a 2022 highlight if we didn’t mention our Bar Albert photoshoot? We had the opportunity to work alongside New Zealand’s newest (and highest!) rooftop bar to showcase its world-class cocktails, specifically crafted menu, and impeccable modern vintage parlour. Which sits high above Auckland and showcases stunning, uninterrupted views of the city of sails! Taking stills and video content of their incredible range of cocktails (some of which are named after the streets of good ol’ Auckland) this shoot was one of our favourites this year.
Mānuka Health USA and Germany Photoshoot
If there were a list of things we love here at Mosh, clients with big ideas would be at the top, closely followed by photoshoots! So when Mānuka Health asked us to create imagery for their new product launch in the USA and Germany, to say we were stoked is an understatement! We created a mixture of lifestyle and product shots in our in-house studio for their stunning new mānuka honey products. Keeping everything on brand, this photoshoot showed how easy their new products are to use and featured sleek packaging, minimal background, and stunning hand models – provided by the Mosh crew, naturally 💅
The end result? A whole batch of beautifully curated imagery, ready to hit social media feeds worldwide!
Moshers Presenting at NZSOMO 2022
When it comes to training and updating others on all things social media, we’re the pros. And we were stoked to present at this year’s NZSOMO (The New Zealand Social Media Forum). Jon covered the wonderful world of Facebook and all its seemingly never-ending algorithm updates while Julian gave the rundown on how to utilise the power of social media when you’re looking to recruit. Oli and Georgia then gave a breakdown of all the latest features of Instagram, upcoming updates, and how IG is attempting to tackle TikTok! All-in-all, not a bad showing from our Moshers, and we’re looking forward to NZSOMO 2023.
MAS Video Shoot – Giving back to NZ
If there’s one thing we really love, it’s working with a company that gives back to the community. When membership-based insurance and investment provider MAS reached out to us to create some video storytelling content we jumped at the chance. We used video content to showcase their commitment to a healthier Aotearoa with their contributions through the MAS Foundation which offer scholarships to people like Carlton a paramedic and soon-to-be doctor. Carlton used his MAS scholarship to work with lower-income communities to develop a cultural awareness program designed to serve communities all over NZ. We’d go into more detail, but we’d rather let our video do the talking 😉
You can watch it here.
Fulton Hogan Recruitment Campaign
The objectives for this campaign were to showcase the essence of Fulton Hogan as a company and employer, grow the audience and reach true potential candidates while highlighting available roles and driving candidate applications. On the face of it, that may seem like a LOT of objectives, but our team of Social Media pro’s smashed this campaign out of the park and by the end of the campaign we had made 968,048 impressions, gained 3,500 new page likes and had gotten 1,629 landing page views, not too shabby if we say so ourselves! 😉 Read the full case study here.
PDL Valentine’s Day Shoot
How could a smart home help keep you out of the dog box? When PDL by Schneider Electric came to us with a brief for a humorous way to showcase how their Wiser Smart Home tech, we looked for ways to illustrate how you can set the mood with the touch of a button. It was a sweet, fun, and engaging way to tell what would normally be a dry, technical story, and was just a blast to shoot!
And that’s a wrap for 2022! It’s been a hell of a year filled with amazing projects, awesome clients, and a whole heap of learning. We’re excited about everything 2023 will bring, but for now, it’s time to kick off the jandals, overindulge in BBQ’d meats, and avoid awkward political discussions with the uncle we only see at Xmas!
We’ll see you again next year peeps,
Peace! ✌️
The Mosh Crew.
